A brief overview of rendering attributes and a hip file using all types of instancing: Object, Shader, Light and Shadow instancing.
This project is an introduction to vm_light, vm_shadow, vm_surface, vm_displace, pscale and instance attributes.

Houdini recognizes special attributes for rendering, which is very useful when instancing:
vm_light
* applying a light shader attribute
vm_shadow
* applying a shadow shader attribute
vm_surface
* applying a surface shader attribute
vm_displace
* applying a displace shader attribute
pscale
* scale of geometry or points
instance
* geometry to instance to points
These can all be used together to create highly efficient scenes that would normally be much heavier in memory and render time.
The file below contains all types of instancing in one project.
